5th FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (March 24, 2017) The guided-missile destroyer USS Truxtun (DDG 103) pulls alongside the Military Sealift Command fleet replenishment oiler USNS Kanawa (T-AO 196) for a replenishment-at-sea. Truxtun is deployed in the 5th Fleet area of operations in support of maritime security operations designed to reassure allies and partners and preserve the freedom of navigation and the free flow of commerce in the region.
