The devastation left behind after a wood has been logged
This is not as bad as it looks. Although this woodland looks devastated it is being sustainably harvested with trees carefully selected for cutting and others left to regenerate. It is impossible to harvest wood without leaving a mess. The wood that remains is left to rot on the forest floor, providing shelter and habitat for many woodland species.
