The first two measures are framed by the descending fourth D-A and the next two measures by C-G. Near the close of the song we find the fourth B-E. The song is melodic in structure and contains all the tones of the octave. While the Papago was walking on the edge of the world he saw a snake erect on its tail and heard it singing. It came to a mountain and coiled itself around the mountain. He did not learn the snake's song but made up this song about it.
