MODEL RELEASED. Doctors in a Ugandan refugee camp. Doctors working in an outpatient ward at a displaced persons camp in the Gulu region of northern Uganda. The ward is part of St. Mary's Hospital in Lacor, Gulu. A displaced persons camp is a village that houses local refugees (known as 'internally displaced persons') who have migrated there due to being forced out of their homes. Northern Uganda is the site of an armed rebellion by the Lord's Resistance Army. The intensity of the conflict has increased since 2002 and many people have been displaced into these camps by the fighting.
