Australia New South Wales Sydney Harbour Opera under the Bridge
Sydney Harbour Bridge is a symbol of Australia. The bridge which straddles one of the world’s most picturesque harbours. Sydney Harbour Bridge was officially open in March 1932 thus connecting the city of Sydney’s southern shore with its northern neighbours. The Bridge is located close to the Sydney Opera House. Sydney Harbour Bridge is one of the world’s ‘largest’ steel-arched bridges with an arch span of 503 metres or 1149 metres if the approach spans are included. The top of the arch is 134 metres above sea level. The clearance for shipping under the deck is 49 metres. Today the deck of Sydney Harbour Bridge has eight lanes for motor vehicles, two railway tracks, a pedestrian footway and a cycleway.
