A solitary, weather-shaped hawthorn tree, full of spring flower on the slopes of Honey Hill near Cold Ashby in Northamptonshire, bathed in late afternoon sunshine. Honey Hill is on the route of the long-distance footpath the Jurassic Way, and was the site of a Mesolithic settlement; it is also the second highest point in Northamptonshire.
