Windsor from Dachet, ca. 1887, Watercolor, Sheet: 8 1/2 x 13 3/4 in. ( x cm), Drawings, William Collingwood Smith (British, Greenwich 1815–1887 London), Smith received some training from James Duffield Harding, but was largely self-taught. From 1836, he exhibited at the Royal Academy and, in 1843, became an associate member of the Society of Painters in Water-Colours (known as the 'Old' Water-Colour Society), attaining full membership in 1849, then serving as treasurer between 1854 and 1879
