A model 1849 hussar pistol.,Round barrel with smooth bore in 18 mm calibre,inscribed on the left side with "156" and a crown over "ST". Flat percussion lock with nipple protector bearing the maker's inscription,"Pistor in Schmalkalden",as well as "ST" and the number "156". Walnut full stock with brass furniture. Grip cap stamped with matching numbers. The few pistols were provided at the time by the gunsmith of the 1st Hussar Regiment,Stöckenius. Cf.
