Soon after Mr. Smiths election as jury commissioner,he closed his job printing business in order that hemight give full attention to his public duties. Sincethat time, his service to the public has been continuousand of a very high order. He has been secretary andtreasurer of the Humane Society, chairman of the mem-bership committee, and a director of the Chamber ofCommerce. He was also one of the original organizersof the School for the Education of the Blind. In factthere have been few movements
