Perhaps no class of plants has more common or popular names, of which the following is but a partial list: Campion, Jerusalem Cross, Lamp Flower, Maltese Cross, Ragged Robin, etc. Chalcedonica. A most desirable plant; heads of brilliant orange-scarlet in June and July; grows2 to 3 feet high. (See cut.) Flos Cuculi. Small, light pink flowers, produced profusely from May to August; 12 to 18 inches. Haageaua. Brilliant orange-scarlet flowers in May and June; 12 inches. Viscaria, Double Red. A fine hardy variety, about 2 feet high, with long, dense, recurved spikes of pure white flowers from July to September. Fortunel.
