Sgt. Justin McCurdy, a 68A Biomedical Equipment Specialist with the 801st Field Hospital, won the competition by lifting a total of 1640lbs. Sgt. McCurdy lifted 420lbs in the bench press, 535lbs with the deadlift and 585lbs with the squat. Sgt. McCurdy also started the Task Force Med 374 Barbell Club, where he teaches proper technique and form while lifting weights in the gym. Starting the club helped encourage other Soldiers to be more physically fit while avoiding injuries from improper form.
