Easter and rubrum lilies have suffered under the weather conditions. The only good proposition, of late, has been the newer varieties of roses, such as Taft, Ward, Melody and Jardine. Taking it all in all, prices have not been so low in many years. Various Notes. At the funeral of the late Gen. Ar- thur MacArthur there were several large floral offerings, both from local and out-of-town dealers. J. M. Fox & Son had the decorations for the Van Dyke wedding, which took place September 7. A large quantity of cut flowers was used. The decorating business has started in earnest with the A. F. Kellner Co. The company was busy last week and has all its decorative plants promised for the fall openings of local department stores. Last week the Wisconsin State Fair was in progress, which brought the usual number of out-of-town visitors. Eug. Oestreicher, of the Heitman- Oestreicher Co., successors to Heitman & Baerman, is now nicely domiciled in his new home in the place of business located at North avenue and Fifty-fifth street. Miss Anna Zender, of Sogers Park, HI., will be the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Helton for this week. The greenhouses of the C. C. Poll- worth Co. are in apple-pie shape. Pros- pects are good for the coming season. A. Reiuhardt, late foreman at the Nic. Zweifel carnation plant. North Milwaukee, has purchased the A. Groth place, in the near vicinity of the
