He next became Head Master of King Edward's School, Birmingham, taking, at the same time, his degree of In 1838 he was appointed Dean of Jersey, and obtained the mastership of Pembroke College in 1843, When the question of University reform was in agitation, Dr. Jeune was chosen one of the Commissioners who were directed to inquire into the state of the University of Oxford. In 1859 he was appointed Vice-Chancellor of the University of Oxford, an office which he held for the three following years. During a part of this time the Prince of Wales was an Undergraduate of the University. Dr. Jeune was appointed Dean of Lincoln towards the close of last year.
