The head is adorned with a very full and ample crest of a deep bluish-black, having the feathers on the front tipped with a clear bluish-white ;the cheeks and back part of the head are black, but a narrow white circlesurrounds the eyes, with a stripe on the upper part running backward up-on the chest. The upper parts are of a deep bluish-purple, paler uponthe rump :
