Palp nine-jointed^ as in the majority of the species of Amniothea; fourth segment rather longer than second (1-24 : i); seg- ments 1-4 together as long as proboscis; terminal segments rather setose. Ovigers each carrying a large mass of de- veloping ova and larvae; segments 6-10 of the usual type; segments 2-4 subequal and each slightly shorter than segment 5. Third leg long and siont; femur the longest segment; second coxa slightly longer than the sum of first and third. Terminal seg- ments as represented in Fig. 47 a and similar in all four limbs. Setides arranged in distinct longitudinal bands on the legs; they also occur on the abdomen, the transverse trunk ridges, lateral processes and chelophores. The female shows the usual sexual differ- ences of oviger and walking legs; the femur is more robust, being scarcely more than seven times as long as wide as against nine times in the male.
