Tesla's Colorado Springs laboratory equipment. Electrical apparatus in the laboratory of Serb-US physicist and electrical engineer Nikola Tesla (1856-1943) in Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA. The equipment includes condensers, a break motor and the primary regulating coil for the oscillator. The large coil at left is part of the 'Magnifying Transmitter'. Serb-US physicist and electrical engineer Nikola Tesla (1856-1943) conducted experiments here from 1899 to 1900. Tesla's experiments involved high-voltage, high-frequency electrical power transmission. He also investigated lightning and wireless telegraphy. The SI unit of magnetic flux density is named in his honour.
