A Venetian schiavona, 2nd half of the 17th century. A double-edged blade with a lenticular cross-section and with fullers on both sides at the base of the blade. There is a stylized Passau wolf in front of the fullers, which bear the inscription "...en Toledo". The root shows a crowned "BC" mark and the Amsterdam Arsenal mark. Iron basket hilt stamped twice with the Venetian Arsenal mark. Grip cover with the original lavish iron wire windings and braided ferrules. Massive, slightly tapered, oval pommel.
