Lt. Sears, an observer, is seen dropping from a balloon of the 6th Infantry Company after being hit by German aviator Hans Heinrich Marwede Etats Maessinger. Marwede was later brought down by American Machine Aircraft Guns on the road between Cuisy and Montfaucon, Meuse, France. The plan is to be studied by Lt. R. Taylor of Commandant's staff for better attraction. The photograph was reviewed and approved by the Censor, and the date of the incident is unknown. The photograph is labeled under the number 24874.
