Kings of the hunting-field : memoirs and anecdotes of distinguished masters of hounds and other celebrities of the chase with histories of famous packs, and hunting traditions of great houses . toall who knew her, as I did, nurtured under her wing, and having from childhood throughout her lifetimeoccupied a position little less than that of a son in herfamily. Six years after thus breaking a lance in defence ofan injured ladys honour, on the 30th of November 1875,Frederick Peter Delme-Radcliffe died at Hitchin Priory,Hertfordshire, in his seventy-second year. Mr Delme-RadcHffes style isno doubt somewhat too diffuse and discursive for thetaste of the present day, and some of his views areobsolete, but still The Noble Science, edited andannotated up to date as it has been by Mr W. C. A. Blew, cannot fail to fascinate every sportsman who takes anintelligrent interest in the science of s.
