A meke, as dancers from all three villages on the tropical island of Fulaga farewell divers who have been diving for beche de mer (sea cucumber). Fiji
The meke was a farewell for the five divers who have been working in Fulaga, diving for beche de mer. The three villages laid on a meke (with kava, dancing, lunch, exchange of gifts) for the divers to which the eleven yachts in the lagoon were invited. Some performers had powder poured on their heads whilst they performed apparently as a sign of appreciation. (No restrictions on photos, many cameras present including the chief's grandson, Matai) Village of Muanaicake, Fulaga, southern Laus, Fiji.
