An armoury eprouvette, German, circa 1800. Brass base plate mounted on a tapered wooden base containing four different measuring bowls inscribed "1-, , 2', and "3" for different amounts of powder. Mortar shaped powder chamber with dolphin handles on the sides and a touchhole on the frontside. Guide rails, set off by balusters on the sides. The measurement bar is toothed on the side and scaled from "1 - 9", with a spherical top piece and a hinged dolphin as a stop. Closed height cm. Extremely rare complete eprouvette.
