Of the second crop of wormy apples, which are found sooften in the barrels that find their way to market, I can only saythat a careful examination in early spring of the barrels and thecellar in which they are kept, and the careful killing of all thecocoons that are found, will do much towards preventing theearly brood. Though they have a few natural enemies, they arenot in such abundance as to allow the orchardist to depend uponthem in the least, and so I need make no mention of
