View NW through entrance of a Late Bronze Age oval building found within a large mound of burnt stones at Liddle (Liddel) Farm, Orkney, Scotland, UK. The structure has a paved floor, a sunken watertight trough, several compartments formed by upright slabs & a hearth within an alcove (front R). When first excavated the trough was half-full of stones which had been heated in a peat fire. Not a 'house', more of a sheltered cooking area &/or bath house/steam room with the hearth in an unroofed courtyard. A selection of stone tools & artefacts has been placed on the alcove wall (R).
