Arrowleaf Balsamroot Balsamorhize Sagittata blooms profusely on dry hillsides in the Western United States each Spring


A favorite of Native Americans was the Arrowleaf Balsamroot or Balsamorhize Sagittata which bursts into bloom with large yellow flowers each Spring on dry hillsides throughout the Western US The Indians used the leaves to make a poultice for burns and the roots were boiled and the solution was used for wounds cuts and bruises and also a tea was made from the roots for tuberculosis and whooping cough
