Game rangers in the Kruger National Park are working to protect the animals and environment against wildlife criminal syndicates in South Africa


Poachers who cross illegally into the Kruger National Park use tree branches to mark entry and exit points. The poachers who target antelope to supply the illicit game meat trade risk being attacked by wild animals. Cattle farmers say the poachers also target their animals to supplement the bush meat trade. In the village of Matiyani near the Punda Maria Gate farmers say more than 30 head of cattle were stolen in just one month in : Lucas Ledwaba/Mukurukuru Media
