'The Imperial Crown Prince and Princess of Germany visited the Prince and Princess [of Wales] at Marlborough House. In the evening their Royal Highnesses were present at the Waverley Ball at Willis's Rooms. The Prince sustained the character of Lord of the Isles, the Princess that of Mary Queen of Scots'.
