, Berlin, Germany, Europe - With the help of cooking oil, Berlin police officers carefully loosen the hand of a climate protester of the so-called Last Generation (Letzte Generation) from the tarmac, who, along with other participants, has glued himself to a roadway on a main street at Ernst-Reuter-Platz in Berlin-Charlottenburg causing severe traffic disruptions. The major demands of the activists are an affordable 9-Euro ticket for everybody and an overall speed limit of 100 km/h on German highways. The group is also calling on the German government to take more drastic measures to cut greenhouse emissions, including stopping the use of all fossil fuels by 2030, as well as a society council.
