Lntil recent years fraternities were not allowed in the College,hut finally the Board of Trustees and the Faculty decided to allow themto come in. They are five in number, including an agricultural fraternity,and have about fifty members. The fraternities are hence not very strongnumerically, but they come in for a large share of the honors of the feeling between fraternity and non-fraternity men. is of the best good-willand friendship toward all. The College is democratic in principle, and whilethe fraternities are not, they have imbibed enough of the spirit of the Collegeti> recognize their true stand.
