Solomon's Temple on Gin Low near Buxton, in the Derbyshire Peak District.

A View of Solomon's Temple on Grin Low near Buxton, Derbyshire, England. Solomon's Temple dominates the skyline towards the south of Buxton. Built in the 1890's, it stands at an altitude of 1,440 feet. It is a Victorian folly, built by Solomon Mycock in the 1890's, paid for by public subscription to provide work for the locally unemployed. The temple is a two-storey tower, sitting on a bronze age barrow. Why the structure is called a 'temple' is difficult to understand, as it is only 20 or so feet in height.
