Fore wing reddish brown thickly pencilled with whitish scales; the basal area with large creamy white patch from just above median nervure to just above inner margin ; a creamy white postmedial band edged by red-brown lines, and with a crimson discoidal spot on it, the inner line slightly excurved to median nervure, then slightly incurved, the outer line obliquely angled upwards to the discoidal spot from just below middle. Hind wing pale crimson with a narrow black- brown terminal band ending in a point at vein 2. Underside of fore wing pale crimson, with the costal area to beyond middle and the terminal area black-hrown. Hub. Bolivia, Buenavista {Steinbach), type f J in Coll. Rothschild.
