Seville, Andalucia, Spain - 31 May 2016; no people in view. Cloth awnings protect shoppers and pedestrians from the fierce summer sun in Calle Sierpes, Seville's premier shopping street. This pedestrianised stretch of this famous street has been the commercial heart of Seville since the fifteenth century. Any protection from the heat and light is much needed; after all, Seville has the hottest summers in continental Europe, with average daily highs in July of C. Phew!
