Heart specimen slice preparation. Close-up of a forensic laboratory technician holding a glass slide that has been prepared with a specimen of tissue from a child's heart. Frozen sections of the child's heart were sliced in a minus 20 degrees Celsius atmosphere, before being mounted on glass slides to be examined by a forensic pathologist under a microscope. This may allow the pathologist to determine a cause of death.
