Hopes were high that UK pilots Paul Bonhomme and Nigel Lamb would finish on the podium in their home round of the Red Bull Air Race World Championship, but seemed unlikely having failed to qualify for the latter stages on their early timed runs. Both got through as fastest losers and extraordinarily went on to finish first and second respectively.
