Transportation facili-ties are afforded by eight different railroadsand branch roads, and more than forty pas-senger trains arrive and depart from thenew depot in Centralia daily. The city has an electric car system, con-necting with Chehalis, and is supplied withan abundance of pure water. There arefour banking institutions; almost all theChristian demoninations are represented bychurches, and the schools are well known. LONG BRIDGE OVER THE COWLITZ RIVER AT TOLEDO Originally there was but one span to the bridge over the river, but floods came and with subsiding of the waters,two channels were where but one was before, and the second bridge was a necessity.
