"The thought of joining the military always fascinated me. Hard work, discipline, and becoming a part of something that will make the people I love proud, especially myself. Many factors influenced my decision to join the CAF – but ultimately, getting the news that I was going to be a dad made it clear to me that it was time to take the next step and sign up." "As a boatswain, my job involves many tasks. Bosuns are in charge of maintaining the ship’s rigging, anchorage and mooring equipment. We are also in charge of small arms maintenance, operation and training, Rigid-Hull Inflatable Boat (RIB) and zodiac maintenance, and operations for boat transfers, high speed boat ops, and man over boards. We also maintain the ship’s paint locker and cleaning gear supplies." (Canadian Forces photo by Leading Seaman Sergej Krivenko)
