First Lieutenant Amos R. Morty of Company "C" 112th Engineers, 37th Division, examines an unexploded bomb at Haxo Barr-soks. The bomb measures approximately 15" in diameter and 30" in length. It contains an orange-colored explosive, possibly Meliuite or Picric acid compound, which dissolves easily in water and turns dark brown in color. The nose of the bomb, which went through a concrete floor and into the ground 18", has a melted detonator fuse. This photograph was taken on September 13, 1918, in Baccarat, France, and was passed by Censor.
