Comrade Clark,feeling nearl}- certain that war with theSouth was inevitable in the Spring of 1860,tried to enlist in the regular army but wasrejected on account of his eyesight, whichseems singular as in the winter of 1862-3,as a member of Company H, Twent3--ThirdMassachusetts Infantry, he, after at target practice, was detailed at , S.
