Look Who’s Back was originally a book by Timur Vermes. The story imagines Hitler waking up 67 years after the second world war in modern Berlin. Homeless and destitute he is recognised by everyone but nobody believes he is Hitler. They assume he is either a comedian or a method actor. He achieves fame after being filmed and posted to YouTube and eventually uses this fame to re-enter politics. The book was published in 2012 in German and the English translation in April 2014. The book was originally priced at 19 euros 33 a deliberate reference to the date of Hitler’s rise to power. It was an instant success selling million copies to date. The film version is reportedly being done in the style of ‘Borat’ jointly by Constantin Films and Mythos Films (based in Berlin). According to the International Business Times Constantin and Mythos has maintained an iron curtain of confidentiality around this film as they don’t wish to blow the cover of the lead actor Masucci, chosen for the role because of his relative obscurity. In this image the Constantin film crew can be seen filming at the Brandenburg Gate, Berlin. Massuci, playing Hitler, was seen pretending to wander around in a confused state surrounded by Japanese tourists (probably extras). Brandenburg Gate, Berlin, being a public space, the filming of this scene was not cordoned off. However, attempts were made by the more robust members of the film crew to hide Massuci’s face from photos and to stop photos from being taken by anyone with anything other than a mobile phone.
