The train left Liverpool Central as the hrs service to Kirkby. Here the train is just arriving at its destination at There where a good lot of passengers on board. Lots of people had been looking forwards to this day, the new trains have been coming for the last 4 years, to replace the 40 year old ones. The new trains are initially been brought into use on the Kirkby line as it is the shortest route they will use and is near the maintaince depot at Kirkdale so if there are any teething problems they should be able to be sorted out quickly. The plan is then to start using them on the Ormskirk line, before going on to the Southport and Wirral lines. This first unit was number 777049 and the train service was running under head code or train reporting number 2K17.
