Aswan, Egypt - 3 December 2010 This intricate bark belongs to Roystonia Regia, usually known as the Cuban royal palm or the Florida royal palm. It was spotted on Kitchener Island on the Nile, Egypt - a long way from its home in Central America, the Caribbean, and southern Florida. Here I have transformed the image into something more abstract by color and layer manipulation.
