The Fire at the Royal Palace, Stockholm, May 7th, 1697, (1862-1866). Slottsbranden. The young King Charles XII of Sweden with his grandmother and sisters escaping ahead of his recently deceased father's body and the crown jewels coming down the stairs behind them. The fire at the Tre Kronor castle destroyed most of Sweden's national library and royal archives.
