Part of the base relief depicting the Churning of the Sea of Milk (Hindu Creation story), with asuras and devas under the direction of Vishnu using the serpent Vasuki to churn the sea, eastern gallery, Angkor Wat temple, near Siem Reap, Cambodia, Asia. Dedicated to the Hindu god Vishnu, Angkor Wat was commenced in first half of 12th century in reign of King Suryavarman II. By the end of the 12th century the temple had transformed from a Hindu temple to a Buddhist one.
