The McLaren MP4/3 is a Formula One racing car built and run by McLaren International during the 1987 Formula One World Championship. It was designed under the leadership of long time McLaren engineer, American Steve Nichols, after John Barnard quit the team. This car may also be the MP4/3B test mule for the Honda tubo engine. In late 1987 McLaren built an MP4/3B test car replacing the TAG Porsche engine with the Honda car was tested by Prost, Senna and test driver Emanuele Pirro.
