Light micrograph of a bubbles of colloid. Colloid is the substance inside the thyroid glands in which thyroid hormones are synthesized. The colloid (bright pink) in this tissue section has formed bubbles, including smaller bubbles within a larger bubble of the substance. Haematoxylin and eosin stained tissue section. Magnification: 600x when printed at 10cm.
