To protest the Australian government's same-sex marriage ban, Sydney's GLBT community staged what they claimed was the world's largest 'illegal' wedding in front of the convention center where the Australian Labor Party (which is currently in power in Australia) was holding its 45th Annual Convention on 8/1/09. The wedding was part of the National Day of Action for Same-Sex Marriage organized by Australia's Community Action Against Homophobia.
