Zion National Park, Wyoming - May 2008; Zion is a spectacularly beautiful American national park located in southwestern Utah near the town of Springdale. Its most prominent feature is its red/tan Zion Canyon, which is 24 km long and up to 800 m deep. Here we see one of its more discrete inhabitants - a beautiful Wild Columbine. Aquilegia canadensis, the Canadian or Canada columbine is a species of herbaceous perennial flowering plant in the buttercup family Ranunculaceae, broadly native to woodland and rocky slopes.
