Denise McKenna, co-founder of the Mental Health Resistance Network speaks and Mind’s chief executive, Paul Farmer listens at the protest at the national office of mental health charity Mind in Stratford. He came out to hold a lengthy argument with the protesters who say Mind is refusing to speak about the effects of welfare reform and sanctions in the suicides of disabled people, and is colluding with the government in suggesting that work is a treatment for mental illness. Farmer tried to answer some of the criticisms but failed to convince them, with people telling him that he was highly paid and did not understand the suffering of those on benefits. MHRN and DPAC are calling for a boycott of Mind and for people to stop making donations to the charity. Peter Marshall Alamy Live News
