The Carpenter Suagr Ant is a common and widspread medium sized social ant. They occur in a wide range of habitats and as well as seeking nectar, scavenging fruit and dead insects they will 'milk' insects such as aphids for honeydew. This is a classic example of mutualism, a form of symbiosisd that both parties benefits.
