In 1924, Wilhelm-Marx-Haus was the highest building in Düsseldorf and the first one in Europe made of a reinforced concrete. It was built from 1922 - 1924 and is under monument protection. The building is named after the Düsseldorf mayor Wilhelm Marx, who was in office from 1899 - 1910.
