Kieffer's Hfbril —A ^ross between ttie Chinese S ind Pear and the Ba^tlett; commences bearing very young, and produces regular and abundant crops; large; russety yellow; flesh while, buttery and juicy; quality good. Idaho Pear (Originated at Lewiston, Idaho)—Large, nearly globular, obtusely ribbed; light, rich yellow, with numerous small dots; flesh fine grained, buttery, melting, good flavor and seedless; ripens a month later than the Bartlett; a good keeper. PEARS—WINTER Easter Buerre—Large, fine grained, very buttery, rich, sweet flavor. One of the best winter pears December^to March. Glou Moroeau—Large, fine, yellow, flesh white, fine grained, buttery, very melting, with a rich sugary flavor, with no mixture of acid. Sometimes astringent in heavy soils; very good. November to December. Lincoln Careless—Trees are good growers with large healthy foliage, hardy and free from disease. Fruit is all solid meat, usually no core or seeds: very large, sometimes weighing over a pound. When ripe, is high colored and handsome, flesh rich yellow, juicy and aromatic. P. Barry—Large, deep yellow, nearly covered with a rich, golden russet; flesh whitish, firm, juicy, melting, sweet, slightly vinous and rich; an early and prolific bearer. December to January. Winter Nellls—Medium size; yellow, with gray russet; very juicy, and of the highest flavor; best winter pear, and valuable for market. November to January. Winter Bartlett—This pear has been lately introduced into California, where it has been fruited and highly esteemed. In appearance it resembles the Bartlett. Fruit is large, perfectly smooth and covered with brown dots;
